The Southern Vintage Engine and Tractor club was formed in 1984 by members such as the late Johnny Corkish (d. 2024) and has gone from strength to strength up to present. One of the main objectives of the club was and is to support local businesses and charities and we have in the past supported the Hyperbaric chamber to name but one.
The club runs an annual show and from the proceeds bought planks on the pier last year but as neither these nor stanchions were available this year the decision was taken to purchase a quantity of centre planks. Members have expressed their wish to continue supporting the Pier Trust into the future.
